Kingdom Come: Deliverance Expected to Get a Film or Series
Daniel Vavra, co-founder and creative director of Warhorse Studios, is reportedly working on a film or TV series adaptation of Kingdom Come: Deliverance instead of continuing in his role on the studio's next game.
It's been over a year since we got the launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which I still maintain is one of the best games we've received in recent years in general and in 2025 in particular. Since launch, all of the game's planned content expansions have been released, including the Legacy of the Forge pack which added a significant amount of content and appears (at least for now) to be its final chapter. While Warhorse is staying quiet and it's not known exactly what the studio's next project is, it seems we are getting new reports about the future of the series.
According to a report that surfaced a few weeks ago on a Czech website, Daniel Vavra, one of the co-founders of Warhorse Studios who also served as the studio's creative director, will not continue in that role for the studio's next game. Instead, he's busy expanding the universe of the two games as he's currently working on writing a film or television series based on Kingdom Come: Deliverance. According to the studio's CEO, Vavra's new role is to bring the brand to the big or small screen based on a script draft that already exists. Personally, I think some kind of adaptation of Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an excellent possibility—the games have a broad storyline that's wonderfully written, and if executed well, it could be one of the best medieval series or films we'll get. As of now, all the information is preliminary and it's not yet clear exactly where the brand is heading and when an adaptation will actually happen.
