Warhorse Studio Reveals New KCD and Lord of the Rings Games in Development

Two months ago, we told you about a new report claiming that Warhorse Studios, the company that brought us the excellent pair of Kingdom Come games, was working on developing a new Lord of the Rings game. A few days after those reports, rumors spread that another studio was working on that game, but now we're getting the first official confirmation that the information was correct and Warhorse is indeed working on that game, along with a new Kingdom Come adventure.

At this stage, we don't know much about either game beyond the fact that they're in development, with the Lord of the Rings game set to be an open-world RPG, likely based on the experience the studio has already gained with this type of game. Unlike Lord of the Rings, regarding KCD the studio has mentioned several times that it's an "adventure," which raises several questions about its structure that might be more linear compared to what we've come to know so far, though senior figures at the studio have made sure to confirm it will be open-world. That said, it's unknown what its storyline will be and whether it will continue to follow Henry or if we'll get a completely new story in the game's universe. The studio finally wrote that more details will arrive when the time is right, and we hope that will be during the summer events that are already just around the corner.
