Triple-i Initiative 2026 Event Recap

The Triple-i Initiative event delivered 45 minutes of non-stop indie game trailers, featuring highly anticipated titles like Dead as Disco, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, and Don't Starve Elsewhere.

The story of the Triple-i Initiative event starts last year, when the demo for a small game called Dead as Disco - which promised to design combat to the rhythm of any song you put into it—launched on Steam and managed to keep that promise in a way that broke the internet. Now, with the promise that the game would get a new trailer at the event, crowds showed up to pay respect to indie games in 45 minutes of non-stop trailers - here's everything that was there.

Prove You're Human

The event kicks off with a killer indie game that takes "are you a robot?" tests and turns them into a narrative horror game. We couldn't think of a better idea for a game, seriously—who thought of this?

Cairn

The melancholic and successful climbing game from last year is getting a series of free expansions that will start rolling out this coming summer.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

The big game of the event got a new trailer that revealed a bit more about the story. The game's map will cover all of Paris, and some of the bosses will be familiar figures from the past like Joan of Arc. Still no release date, but it's coming later this year.

Rift of the NecroDancer: Undertale Music Pack

A match made in heaven and a surprise that hasn't happened until now—the popular indie game Rift of the NecroDancer is getting a music pack from the even more popular indie game Undertale. Available right now! And it includes Megalovania.

Dead as Disco

Okay, maybe this is the big game of the event. The Final Countdown started and it turns out the indie hit is coming to PC on May 5th. We can't wait.

Valor Mortis

The intriguing medieval game from the creators of Ghostrunner got a trailer that made it twice as interesting. Coming out in winter.

Brotato DLC

One of the most fun games of recent years is getting a jungle expansion with 6 new weapons, coming this summer to all platforms.

Far Far West

One of the games I'm personally most looking forward to got a new trailer that shows exactly why I'm so excited for it. Totally western and totally wild—and now with an Early Access release date on the 28th of the month.

Graveyard Keeper 2

The sequel to Graveyard Keeper was announced, and honestly I'm putting it here not because the trailer is cool or because it's already coming out this year—but because of the developers' insane decision to make the first one completely free for a limited time right now on all platforms. We loved it.

Don't Starve Elsewhere

Folks, this is how you do one last game. Don't Starve Elsewhere was announced as the new game in the Don't Starve series in a decade, and it looks absolutely stunning. Still no release date.
