Tomb Raider: Catalyst Launch Date Pushed Back to 2028
Amazon Games has delayed Tomb Raider: Catalyst from 2027 to 2028, while Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis remains on track for its February 12 release date.
One of the most exciting announcements from the recent Game Awards ceremony was Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the first new entry in the Tomb Raider franchise since 2018. Alongside Catalyst, we also got an announcement for Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, which is essentially a remake of the first game in the series. The game was supposed to launch sometime this year, but we recently got confirmation that it will arrive on February 12. With Catalyst, we had to settle for a very broad 2027 release window.
But now we're getting news that Catalyst's launch window has been pushed from next year to an as-yet-unknown date in 2028. The information comes from an interview with Jeffrey Gattis, head of Amazon Games, in which he said: "Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is coming February 12th next year, and then we'll continue into 2028 with the next game. We're excited about both." Beyond this brief quote that mentions the new launch date almost in passing, we haven't received any additional news about the games, and we're hoping that during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event we'll get another look at them.
