The Division 2's New Content Update Boosts Player Count by 400%
Ubisoft's The Division 2 has seen an unprecedented surge in concurrent players following recent content updates, with Steam numbers jumping from 3,500 to over 22,000 players.
Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's The Division 2 continues to receive support from the company, which recently shared the game's roadmap with players, promising a wealth of new content updates throughout the coming year. The series of updates already released for the game in recent weeks has led to an unprecedented surge in the number of players visiting the game's servers. According to SteamDB, the number of concurrent players in the past 24 hours reached no less than 22,486 players, along with a concurrent player peak that was broken two days ago, standing at 27,482 players.
These are very impressive numbers for the game, especially considering that until recently the game's average concurrent player count stood at only 3,500 players. The figure becomes even more impressive when you take into account that the game was only added to Steam's library in 2023 (the game originally launched in 2019), which means that most of its hardcore players who have been playing since the beginning did so through other gaming platforms, including Ubisoft's dedicated launcher. This suggests that beyond the impressive Steam numbers, it's likely that an even larger number of players are actually playing the game today. And speaking of Steam - the game is currently on an insane sale on the platform, where you can purchase the base edition for only 11.90 shekels as part of the game's annual Anniversary celebrations.
In the global streaming scene, the game is also enjoying renewed love along with impressive viewership numbers on Twitch, where no fewer than 37,000 users watched content related to the game broadcast by the platform's various content creators. The roadmap itself includes, among other things, the addition of crossplay support between PC and consoles, a new expansion pack that will bring players to Central Park, new game modes, and the return of Classified Assignments.
