The Developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance Are Helping Restore the Castle from the Game

Warhorse Studio announced they will help fund the restoration of the 14th-century Pirkstein Castle, which appears in the game, by donating one dollar for every copy of the base game sold during the current Medieval Days sale on Steam.

One of the things that sets the Kingdom Come: Deliverance games apart is their commitment to authenticity and staying true to their source material. Whether it's the weapons, language, or locations where the games take place, everything is based on reality—including the 14th-century Pirkstein Castle. If you played the first KCD, you know the castle is a highly significant location in the game, as we have to defend it and later even move in to live there. But over the hundreds of years the castle has been standing, its condition has deteriorated, and it now requires a comprehensive restoration and renovation process that has already begun.

In recent days, Warhorse Studio, the studio behind KCD, announced that they will help fund part of the castle's restoration. The money for this effort will come from players who purchase the first KCD during the Medieval Days sale currently taking place on Steam, with the studio donating one dollar for every copy of the base game sold. At the end of the day, this is a really charming marketing move from Warhorse that both shows appreciation and helps preserve the heritage on which the game was built. If you haven't played the first KCD yet, I highly recommend doing so—especially since the game is currently 80% off and selling for only 24 shekels.
