The Blood of Dawnwalker Needs an RTX 5090 for 4K Ultra

Rebel Wolves dropped PC requirements for The Blood of Dawnwalker, and maxing out 4K demands an RTX 5090—though that's without upscaling.

The Blood of Dawnwalker has a release date. Rebel Wolves also dropped the PC system requirements, and they're brutal.

Like Crimson Desert and other recent releases, Rebel Wolves posted a chart breaking down hardware needs across different resolutions, quality presets, and target frame rates. The spread runs from minimum settings all the way to 4K Ultra.

Minimum specs are reasonable—an RTX 3050 or GTX 1070 gets you in the door. That's for 1080p at minimum settings and 30fps. Maxing everything out? You need an RTX 5090, the most expensive consumer graphics card in recent history. And that's just for 4K 60fps, not some ambitious 120fps target.

The RTX 5090 launched in January 2026 at $1,999. Prices have since exploded, and you're looking at $3,699 on Newegg. That's on the low end, but it's worth noting: the RTX 5090 spec is for native 4K - no DLSS or FSR. Upscaling will likely cut the GPU load significantly.

Too early to tell if this is an optimization problem or genuine hardware demands. But with Rebel Wolves staffed by CD Projekt Red alumni, targeting high-end gaming PCs for The Blood of Dawnwalker isn't exactly shocking.

When the game launches September 3, I'll test it across multiple GPUs to see how it actually runs. Hopefully it justifies that high-end hardware - The Witcher 3 certainly did back in its day.
