Teaser for Alien Isolation Sequel Released
A year and a half after the initial announcement, the Alien Isolation sequel has received its first teaser trailer, released on Alien Day to celebrate the franchise.
Did you know? Every year on April 26th, people celebrate Alien Day as a tribute to the release date of one of the best sci-fi horror films in history, Alien Isolation. The first game was unfortunately released on a difficult date for us (October 7th), but for those who remember and those who don't, about a year and a half ago we received an official announcement celebrating the game's 10th anniversary that Alien Isolation would finally be getting a sequel. Since then, a year and a half has passed with very quiet development at Creative Assembly, and to celebrate Alien Day yesterday, we received the first small teaser for the sequel.
The teaser for the Alien Isolation sequel was released last night and has already received plenty of love (103 thousand likes and 5 million views on Twitter alone in less than 24 hours, wow), but what can we understand from this teaser? Well, not a lot. One thing we can conclude from what we do see in this teaser is that we're no longer in the space station from Isolation, but apparently in a human colony this time, and it seems we'll see more elements taken from the movie Aliens, the sequel to the classic Alien.
Do we have a release date for the game? Not yet. Can we expect something a bit more substantial later this year? The answer is probably "absolutely!" Summer events are just around the corner, and I don't believe Creative Assembly would release a teaser like this without having something else right around the corner that's even bigger. Whether it'll be during the Summer Game Fest summer events or later this year at events like The Game Awards, we can't say yet, but it's clear there's already something new to look forward to. In the meantime, what do you think of the teaser? Are you waiting for the Alien Isolation sequel? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
