Splitgate Developers Working on Game with Titanfall-Like Movement System

1047 Games, the studio behind Splitgate, has announced they're developing a new movement shooter with mechanics inspired by Titanfall and Black Ops 3, with playtesting signups now open.

Most players probably aren't familiar with the name 1047 Games. Personally, I'm a huge fan of this studio after they brought us the first Splitgate, which I still consider one of the most sophisticated and fun shooters of recent years. More recently, they also brought us Splitgate 2, which failed and relaunched under the name Arena Reloaded, trying a slightly different formula—but it too failed to attract a wide player base.

In a video that Ian Proulx, CEO of 1047 Games, recently posted to social media, he revealed that a small part of the studio's development team has started working on a new game that will be a movement shooter—meaning a game that places a central emphasis on advanced movement mechanics that allow for much more freedom. Ian mentioned Titanfall and Black Ops 3 as references for what we can expect, and signups for playtesting rounds for this intriguing game are already open and available for players who want to try it out. Beyond that video, we don't know any more details about the game yet, but given the studio's history of creating fast-paced, fluid FPS games, there's definitely something to look forward to.
