Sharpen Your Claws: Marvel's Wolverine Has Gone Gold

Marvel's Wolverine has officially gone gold, with just weeks remaining until the game's September 15 launch as a PlayStation 5 exclusive from Insomniac Games.

Ready to step into the shoes of the one and only?

With just a few weeks left until the official launch of Marvel's Wolverine, we now have the official announcement that the game has gone gold. This means that the core development of the game has been completed, and the vast majority of work on the project is now focused on bug fixes, marketing, and preparing for the launch itself. The game will launch on September 15 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. As a reminder, the game's developer is Insomniac Games, the same studio that delivered the Marvel's Spider-Man series which began in 2018.

Marvel's Wolverine will put us in Wolverine's shoes, with the game's story taking place roughly three years after Wolverine left the special forces team "X-Team." The game will follow Wolverine's journey as he attempts to rescue a group of mutants captured by Bolivar Trask, who will apparently serve as one of the game's main villains. In terms of gameplay, we can expect an action game that will focus on particularly brutal gameplay wrapped in a linear structure that won't offer an open-world experience.
