PUBG: BLINDSPOT Shuts Down After Two Months in Early Access

PUBG's experimental tactical shooter combining CSGO-style 5v5 gameplay with Door Kickers mechanics and Rainbow Six Siege elements is shutting down after developers determined they couldn't deliver the required level of content and experience.

Chances are the name PUBG: BLINDSPOT doesn't ring a bell for most of you. The new game under the PUBG brand featured a very interesting gameplay combination (at least in my opinion) of 5v5 CSGO-style action together with the perspective and mechanics of Door Kickers, mixed with attack and defense elements we know from Rainbow Six Siege. If all that sounds like a confusing combination that couldn't possibly work, I highly recommend watching the video that shows how it all comes together.

The game was revealed a few months ago under the name Project ARC, which was changed to BLINDSPOT when early access launched on February 5th. In a new announcement published on the Steam page, it states that the game is coming to an end today. According to the announcement, the game's development team examined its performance during early access and after reviewing "every possible avenue," they concluded they were unable to deliver the level of content and experience the game required, and therefore decided to shut it down. I have to say BLINDSPOT completely flew under my radar and I hadn't heard about it since that initial announcement, but I really love Door Kickers so I probably would have given it a shot. In any case, this appears to be yet another new game that tried to ride on the coattails of a major brand name but failed to offer value to players.
