Original Hitman Game Trilogy Getting Remastered
IO Interactive has announced that the original Hitman trilogy—Codename 47, Silent Assassin, and Contracts—is receiving a remaster with modern graphics, updated environments, new models, and higher resolution textures.
We know that IO Interactive is currently working on quite a few different projects. The first is 007 First Light, which launched just two weeks ago to tremendous success and glowing reviews, and during Summer Game Fest we got an announcement for a new mission coming to it. Beyond Bond, we also know a few vague details about Project Fantasy and of course Hitman: World of Assassination, which continues to receive new content and new assassination targets.
But there was one more Hitman-related announcement that barely got any spotlight. The original game trilogy that kicked off in 2000 with Codename 47, followed by Silent Assassin and Contracts, is now getting a remastered version launching soon. The updated version will feature modern graphics with revamped environments, new models, and much higher resolution textures, and in case you want to preserve the classic look, you'll be able to toggle between it and the new one through the settings. On top of that, we're also getting a new photo mode. As of now, we haven't received a release date for HITMAN Classic Trilogy Remastered, but the game collection is expected to arrive sometime next year on PC and current-gen consoles.
