Official: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Won't Launch This Year
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been officially delayed to 2027, according to Paramount Games Studios' Head of Creative, who confirmed the game needs more time in development to deliver a better final product.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've witnessed a delay for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra (just a reminder that it was originally supposed to launch sometime in 2025), but there's nothing to be done about it—it's reality: Shawn Kittelsen, Head of Creative at Paramount Games Studios, the company responsible for the project, officially announced in an interview with IGN that the game, which was supposed to release sometime during the current year, will be delayed and will instead launch sometime in 2027. Paramount Games Studios is essentially a new game development studio that brings together Skydance Interactive and Skydance Media (originally it was Skydance Media that was entrusted with developing the game).
There were some positive sparks in Kittelsen's comments, who said that while the game has been delayed, it is "real and fully playable," which should indicate that its development is relatively far along. Kittelsen noted that the game's development team needs "a bit more time to be able to deliver a better product," and said it's better to invest the time in the game's quality and ensure the development team has enough time "to cook it."
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is set to be an action-adventure game that will bring to the forefront two of the most beloved characters in the Marvel superhero universe, namely Black Panther and Captain America, who will embark together on a mission against the evil Hydra organization and its destructive schemes. One of the key points here is that one of the senior figures responsible for its development is Amy Hennig, who was originally the director of the excellent Uncharted game series, which raises hopes that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will deliver a similar product when it comes to the game's level of action and energy. Rise of Hydra is not the only game that Paramount Game Studios is currently working on, as it's also responsible for developing the game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, which was "brought back to life" with a bang during the recent Summer Game Fest ceremony.
