New Worms Game Leaked, Likely Called Worms Galactic Tactics

A few months ago, we wrote about a surprising leak of gameplay footage from a new Worms game. The leak came pretty much out of nowhere since we didn't know a new Worms game was in development, and that's how we found out about it. At the time, we expected the game to be revealed at one of the Summer Game Fest events, which didn't happen — but there's always a new day and another event just around the corner. Now we're getting another leak related to the new Worms game.

The current leak comes from Intercelluar, who is familiar to us from previous accurate leaks regarding Rayman Legends and Black Flag Resynced. This leak shows us what appears to be the game's cover art and its name, which will be called Worms Galactic Tactics. If we connect this leak to the one from a few months ago, they seem to fit together. In the gameplay footage, we saw a much more tactical gameplay style reminiscent of XCOM games, so the word Tactics in the name makes sense, and additionally, it appeared that battles would take place in an arena setting, and the image from the game definitely shows this with the large viewing audience and cameras. As always, it should be noted that these are leaks and not official information, but the details add up and it seems likely that the game's reveal will happen soon, possibly even next week at Gamescom.
