Nintendo dropped a new trailer for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book without prior warning, revealing gameplay details and confirming a May 21 release date exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.

At this point, it seems Nintendo has decided to skip a dedicated Direct event and instead just drop various trailers and announcements without any advance notice, which is exactly what it did with the new Yoshi and the Mysterious Book trailer released yesterday.
The new trailer reveals several more details about the game, including its main storyline and how we'll be able to explore the pages of the magical book we encounter at the start of the game. One of the key highlights of this game is its visual presentation, alongside relatively simple yet enjoyable gameplay that retains classic moves taken straight from other entries in the series, such as Yoshi's ability to extend his jump for a few seconds and his ability to throw eggs at enemies. Beyond the trailer content itself, the game's release date was also revealed as May 21 of this year. Pre-orders for the game opened today as well, and it will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
