New Details About Magicians: The Devil's Deal Revealed

Magicians: The Devil's Deal was one of the most interesting surprises at yesterday's Xbox event, featuring a first-person game where stage magic becomes reality as betrayed magician Jacob Montero makes a deal with the devil for revenge.

We're still trying to recover from yesterday evening's absolutely fantastic XBOX event. The event didn't spare us trailers, new details, and release dates. One of the games at the event that was also one of the surprises with its first reveal was Magicians: The Devil's Deal. At first when we saw the trailer we thought this was a new We Happy Few game, but to our complete surprise, as the trailer progressed we realized this was something new and completely different from anything we've seen before.

As you can see, Magicians: The Devil's Deal is a first-person game that makes extensive use of magic tricks that become reality. From the press release the studio published, we learn that we'll play as Jacob Montero, a stage magician who is betrayed by his rivals ("the Masters") and sent to hell where he makes a pact with the devil to turn his stage magic into supernatural abilities and take revenge on the Masters within the Theatreland - a kind of Victorian London. As for gameplay, we learn there will be an emphasis on exploring the world which is supposed to be atmospheric and immersive along with plenty of dangers within it and battles we'll enter. The most interesting idea in Magicians is the magic, with the studio saying we'll be able to use tricks like turning cards into projectiles or altering gravity.
