Mouse: P.I. For Hire Hits 730,000 Sales

The 1930s cartoon-styled FPS has sold 730,000 copies since April, with console now accounting for 50% of total sales.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire has sold 730,000 copies since launching in April.

Publisher PlaySide dropped the numbers in its financial presentation to investors, confirming publishing and marketing costs are now "recouped." That means continued sales feed directly into PlaySide's FY26 revenue, now projected at $36-£38 million—up from $34.7 million.

"The upgrade primarily reflects stronger than-expected unit sales and ongoing wishlist conversion of Mouse: P.I. For Hire across PC and console platforms, and has been achieved despite the delayed launch of the title and the absence of major external project wins during the year to date," the publisher said. Console now represents 50% of total sales as the game maintains strong visibility on console storefronts, according to PlaySide.

Developed by Fumi Games, Mouse: P.I. For Hire puts you in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper for a jazz-fueled FPS that mixes "the charm of hand-drawn rubber hose animation inspired by the classic cartoons of the 1930s with the adrenaline and action of an explosive first person shooter." It's sitting at 'Very Positive' on Steam.
