Modern Warfare 4 Beta Starts August 21

Modern Warfare 4 will launch its closed beta on August 21st for pre-orders, followed by an open beta on August 28th, alongside a new Call of Duty Next event.

Considering everything we know about it so far, it looks like Modern Warfare 4 is set to bring the franchise back to greatness after a weak and very poor launch last year with Black Ops 7. As is tradition, the game will receive two betas before launch, one after the other, with the first being closed to pre-order customers while the second will be open to the general public.

It's worth noting that this won't be the first time Modern Warfare 4 is available to play, as the game has already been playable at various physical events recently. However, this is the first opportunity for everyone to try the game for an extended period with the comfort of their living room couch. The game's closed beta will start on August 21st and run until the 25th, while the open beta for all players will begin on August 28th and close on September 1st. The closed beta will open immediately after a new event called Call of Duty Next, which will be the first of its kind and will give us another gameplay showcase, deeper dive into the expected content, and additional details from the developers. On the content front, we know the beta will include around 19 weapons and several different game modes, among them the new Kill Block which looks particularly interesting and personally reminded me a bit of the excellent Gunfight mode. Finally, it was revealed that pre-orders for the game on Switch 2 will open on August 26th.
