God of War Laufey Release Date Revealed, Launching February 16
Sony has officially announced that God of War Laufey will launch on February 16, 2027, confirming earlier rumors about the release window.
Our annual expedition to Comic-Con in San Diego is already covering all the exciting events and announcements, and after the Marvel's Wolverine panel gave us a fresh look at the game with a great trailer, it's God of War Laufey's turn to give us some headlines. While Laufey didn't have a big central panel like Wolverine's, Sony took advantage of the convention to reveal the game's official release date, which will arrive on February 16, 2027.
Rumors about this release window have been circulating for several weeks now, already moments after its official reveal in June. Back then, journalist Jason Schreier claimed the game would definitely release in 2027, and another leaker named Alir added that it was planned to launch by March of next year. Two weeks ago, we got reinforcement for this release window with the announcement that the game would release on physical disc, and now with the official release date, we're seeing that all these pieces of information materialized exactly and converge on the February 16 launch date. Alongside this, Cory Barlog, the studio's creative director, said that the next God of War game in which Kratos will be the main character will be a direct sequel to Laufey, with the stories of both games connected to one another.
