Fortnite Makes Dramatic Changes to V-Bucks Amounts You'll Receive in Purchases

Fortnite has announced dramatic changes to V-Bucks pricing and amounts, effective March 19th, reducing the amount of in-game currency received in every purchase tier while keeping prices the same.

Without any advance warning, Fortnite announced several dramatic changes regarding the game's currency, V-bucks. The changes will take effect on March 19th, and alter the cost of almost everything in the game. All the changes are listed below.

All current V-bucks purchase bundles are staying at the same prices, but now offer significantly less currency in each bundle. The standard bundle that currently contains 1,000 will only contain 800, the next one that currently offers 2,800 will only contain 2,400. The 5,000 bundle will only contain 4,500 and the 13,500 bundle will only contain 12,500. Additionally, the Battle Pass that until now cost 1,000 V-Bucks with the ability to earn up to 1,500 back will now cost 800 with the ability to earn back only those same 800 without a bonus. The monthly subscription service also took a hit and will now give only 800 coins per month instead of 1,000. Finally, the Lego, Music, and OG Passes will now cost 200 less.

As crazy as it may be, Epic Games chose not to present the change in a positive light, and simply wrote that "the cost of running the Fortnite has gone up, and we're raising prices so we can pay the bills." A wild quote.
