The latest Summer Game Fest was without a doubt one of the most successful we've seen in many years. I think just about everyone could watch the presentation and find a game for themselves, and I really felt like I got almost everything I could ask for, including Street Fighter 6's fourth season that was shown toward the explosive finale of the event. So what's special about the game's fourth season? Well, it doesn't include any returning series character at all. We actually got a trailer introducing two completely new characters, Yasmine and Arjun, along with one of the new characters from the sixth game's story who is officially becoming a playable character, and Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, which in itself is a massive announcement (and frustrating for Tekken fans). But now we're also getting a first look at the season's first character, Yasmine!
While the game's third season ended with a cosmic character along with Ingrid, who until not too long ago many people probably didn't even remember or know existed in the Street Fighter universe, now we're starting with something new. Yasmine fights in a style called Eskrima (a Filipino martial art) and she uses a curved knife called a Karambit. And while a taste of her gameplay is already here, there's still some time until her release and the fourth season, which arrives on August 3rd. Will we see additional balancing for the game at that time? It's possible that Capcom is afraid to break what's working so well right now, but we'll have to wait and see! What do you think of the new character? Are you looking forward to the fourth season? Feel free to share with us in the comments!
