Everything's Under Control: Control Resonant Goes Gold But Physical Version Delayed
Control Resonant has officially gone gold ahead of its September 24th launch, but the physical edition has been pushed back to October 15th, forcing players to go digital if they want to play on day one.
Or you'll have to wait until October
After a very long wait, Control Resonant is almost here. We've gotten plenty of demos and videos from the game in recent months, and we also know it will be at Gamescom in what's apparently the final showing before its full launch on September 24th. Now we're getting the news that the game has officially gone gold, meaning all its content is finished and it's essentially ready for launch, with the studio now focusing on bug fixes and final preparations.
Despite the good news that the game is ready (and within a healthy timeframe before launch), not everyone's happy. Alongside the gold announcement, Remedy also revealed that the physical version has been delayed to October 15th. This means if you want to play Control Resonant on September 24th, you'll only be able to do so digitally. The reason for the delay is currently unknown, but it's reasonable to assume logistical difficulties caused it. As we know, in recent months the existence of physical copies has been at the center of a storm following Sony's announcement about ending its support for them, and it seems Resonant's launch in its current form reminds us once again of some of the reasons behind that decision.
