Despite Not Appearing at the Xbox Event, Marvel's Blade Appears to Still Be in Development

After leaker Jeff Grubb incorrectly stated that Blade's development was "dead," he later corrected himself, confirming the game is still in development and was announced too early in its production cycle.

Marvel's Blade was was announced back in December 2023, and since then, at every event that followed, we haven't received a single new piece of information about it, with many fans besides myself eagerly anticipating seeing it at the recent Xbox event that took place two days ago. That didn't happen, leaving players wondering whether the game is even still in development.

After the event, reliable leaker Jeff Grubb shared on a podcast he participated in that to the best of his understanding "Blade's development is dead," and that Arkane is no longer working on it (around the 1 hour and 16 minute mark in the video). This led many people to express their frustration and disappointment, which naturally caused a storm online. However, Grubb was quick to correct himself after the uproar, tweeting on his X page that he looked into the matter more deeply, that there are legitimate reasons why the game wasn't shown during the event, and that it's not because there are problems with it. He closed the tweet by stating that the game "is not dead."

So what the hell is going on with Blade? It appears to be another case where a game is announced too early in its development cycle, and the next time they showcase it will be several years later when it's at a more advanced stage. We've seen this happen with The Elder Scrolls VI, Star Wars: Eclipse, and now with Blade. In any case, we're happy to know the game is still alive and kicking, and even happier to hear that it hasn't run into "development hell" that has plagued quite a few games in recent years.
