ASUS Celebrates 20 Years of ROG Brand with New Products
ASUS is marking the 20th anniversary of its ROG gaming brand with several new product launches, including the retro-inspired ROG CROSSHAIR 2006 motherboard and a special DDR5 memory kit.
ASUS's gaming brand ROG is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and as part of the festivities, the company has launched several new products marking their two decades of activity. In the laptop segment, we're seeing the special ROG Zephyrus Duo, which we'll discuss in depth in the coming weeks, and alongside the company's hardware products, we're seeing the announcement of two new products. The first is the ROG CROSSHAIR 2006, a new motherboard that showcases ASUS's excellence in the field.

Despite its name, the ROG CROSSHAIR 2006 is a completely new motherboard whose crown jewel is its unique design that evokes boards and hardware from 2006. Personally, I really love this special design with its bronze-colored heatsinks and blue and white connectors. Beyond the different design, this is a board loaded with technologies as ROG loves to do, with an X870E chipset for AMD processors, a very powerful voltage delivery array, five M.2 connectors, and two additional PCIe 5 slots. Returning to the design side again, we see that the board features a small screen that will also display two special animations commemorating the brand's 20th anniversary.

Alongside the motherboard, a DDR5 memory kit was also revealed, coming as part of a collaboration between ROG and Biwin. Here we're talking about a much less bold product with a refreshed design of an existing product, with the memory available in 48GB or 96GB capacities at 6000MT/s speeds, with CL26 timing. To provide the perfect envelope for the memory, the BIOS in ROG motherboards will include a feature called ROG Mode that will contain pre-configured XMP profiles for the memory and bring them up to speeds of 8000MT/s at CL36 timing.
