All the News and Updates from the Nintendo Direct June 2026!

Nintendo closes out the summer gaming event season with their longest Direct in years, featuring announcements for Switch 2's second year including new entries in major franchises, third-party ports, and surprise reveals.

After Sony and Xbox bombarded us with excellent events , and surprisingly even the Summer Game Fest was outstanding, Nintendo seals off this E3-less era with an event of their own, the longest in recent years. Will it live up to expectations?


Rhythm Heaven Groove

The Direct opened with a game that was actually already announced, the first game in the Rhythm Heaven series in a decade. An online mode that looks excellent was shown, along with a story mode where we'll attack enemies with rhythm-based hits. Releasing July 2nd for Switch as well.


Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and Stellar Blade Coming to Switch 2!

Dragon's Dogma 2 is coming to Switch 2 in an expanded version on October 9th, Stellar Blade will arrive later this year.


Orbitals Gets a Release Date!

This beautiful co-op game already caught our eye last year, and now it arrived with a new trailer and release date! Coming exclusively to Switch 2 on September 3rd.


Big Walk

One of the biggest indie games from last year is coming to Nintendo's console, and it fits like a glove. Releases August 4th.


One Piece: Grand Gourmet

A new and brilliant game for the One Piece anime series was announced, it will be a Sanji cooking game where he builds a restaurant that will gradually develop and host over 400 characters from the series. Releasing October 23rd.


Pokemon Pokopia Expanding and Thriving

Expansions for Pokémon Pokopia were announced, not surprising given the game's insane success. A free expansion will release as early as the beginning of August, and three paid expansions will start from August with an expansion that takes place underwater.


Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

The new game in the strategy series that has established itself as a huge Nintendo icon in recent years received a release date with another impressive trailer. Releasing September 17th, God save us what a cursed month.


Ninjala 2

A second game in the series, looks a bit rough for now but also cool with lots of atmosphere. Releasing next year.


Donkey Kong Bananza X Mario

The great Donkey Kong game from last year is getting special events with Mario and Luigi skins and tons of references to the series. The events will start today, and only for those who own Bananza's paid expansion.


Vampire Survivors Creators Making Jujutsu Kaisen

The amazing anime series is getting a game in the Vampire Survivors style, from the creators of Vampire Survivors. Even if this seems weird to you - know that this is a simply excellent game. Jujutsu Kaisen: Rumble Survation releases this year - currently without a date.


More Older Triple-A Games Coming to Switch 2

Lords of The Fallen 2 in winter, Lies of P on August 6th and the masterpiece DMC 5 on June 23rd.


Absolute Xenoblade Chronicles Madness

All three previous games will arrive in enhanced versions for Switch 2, starting today! In addition, a new game in the series was announced with a simply insane trailer, and a new heroine who looks particularly interesting and will be called Xenoblade: Genesis. Releasing next year.


Wii Sports Resort

A new and upgraded version of the iconic Wii Sport Resort was announced, with new games like skateboarding and thumb wrestling and old ones like tennis and bowling! Releasing October 22nd!


Final Fantasy in 2.5D!!

After years of Square keeping the special 2.5D style for its smaller games - it's now opening it up for its major flagship series. Final Fantasy: Resonance releases as soon as October 22nd.


Make Room for Star Fox Today

The game releasing June 25th got a demo that's available today. Will you try it?


The Duskbloods

The next game from FromSoftware, a studio whose time writing all the masterpieces it's released in recent years will probably be longer than the time it got at the event. With a minimal trailer, only a closed beta in summer was announced again - without any additional information about the story or the game itself. No release date.


Splatoon Raiders

The relatively odd but also relatively exciting Splatoon spin-off game got another trailer and announcement of a special event just for it on June 30th, releasing July 23rd.


Daltarune Chapter 5!

The fifth chapter of the game releases this month on June 24th.


Metaphor: ReFantazio

We didn't get Expedition 33, but the second best Game of the Year nominee last year - Metaphor: ReFantazio we did get. Releasing for Switch 2 on November 12th.


Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World

A cute Dragon Quest spin-off game that was only announced last month surprisingly got a new trailer and release date. Coming December 3rd.


Kingdom Hearts 4

The previous games in the series were announced for Switch 2, the fourth game was also announced with what looks like an expanded version of the combat gameplay we've already seen.


The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

With a reference to the Skyrim announcement trailer, a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was announced releasing this year.
