All the Announcements and News from the XBOX Games Showcase 2026!

Microsoft delivered its annual XBOX Games Showcase with major reveals including Gears of War: E-Day gameplay and release date, the long-awaited Persona 6 announcement, and a surprise return of Spyro, alongside updates on Fable, Halo, and many other titles.

After long months of rumors, waiting, and Sony's event last week, we've finally arrived at the XBOX Games Showcase. In recent years, the XBOX event has been excellent with plenty of great announcements and trailers, and this year the company comes to it after quite a few internal changes, including the departure of Phil Spencer who had been the face of the brand for many years. So with all that on its back, here's everything Microsoft presented at the XBOX Games Showcase 2026!

Gears of War: E-Day

After Sony opened their event with Wolverine gameplay, Microsoft responds with a strong opening featuring gameplay from Gears of War: E-Day that looks absolutely excellent. And if that's not enough, we also got a release date for October 6th this year. Another interesting detail is that E-Day will be exclusive to PC and XBOX consoles only and won't be coming to PS5.

Fable

After years of teasers, we got a reveal of the main villain who will be played by Hayley Atwell, and here's also the exact release date coming February 23rd.

Halo: Campaign Evolved

The remake of the first game in XBOX's most iconic series is also here with a reveal of three new missions that will be available in the remaster. At the end we also got a release date for July 28th.

Resonance: A Plague Legacy

After plenty of rumors with reports that the game would arrive in the coming months, we're getting the presentation of Resonance: A Plague Legacy with a reveal of cinematic gameplay ahead of the upcoming launch on August 27th.

Persona 4 Revival

The remake of the fourth game in the Japanese series that was announced at last year's event got its first proper trailer - and with it a release date too! The game will launch on February 18th, 2027 with pre-orders available now.

State of Decay 3

After we got information about the game launching sometime this year, we're now seeing it after a long silence with cinematic segments and new short gameplay sections that look great. Contrary to rumors, the release date has been pushed to sometime during 2027.

Sea of Thives

A new expansion coming to Rare's beloved pirate game that will arrive on June 18th.

Metro 2039

A bit more from the new Metro that looks absolutely stunning. We didn't get too much new information here, just a reminder of the launch happening this coming winter with a focus on February.

Bad Magpie

If this reminded you of Untitled Goose Game, you're definitely not alone. While this game doesn't come from the same studio, there are certainly plenty of similarities here as we play as a pigeon going on adventures. Bad Magpie will come to us during 2027.

Persona 6

The moment many have been waiting for, Persona 6 is finally revealed and it's real! We didn't see too much here but now we know the game is real and in development.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond

This might be the peak moment of the event and the most unexpected announcement. Our beloved dragon returns with a new game, Spyro looks more mature here and despite the trailer being very short, our expectations for the game are sky high. Spyro will return to us during the spring months of 2027.

Clockwork Revolution - The Heist

We saw it at events over the past two years and it looked interesting, since then we haven't heard much more about it but Microsoft reminds us that Clockwork Revolution - The Heist is still on the way. The new trailer gave us a look at some of the characters we'll meet in the game when it launches in 2027.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

After the game's reveal which was simply amazing a few weeks ago, we're now getting a relatively lengthy gameplay presentation of the DMZ mode that's returning with the new title. Whether you love Call of Duty or not, the game looks absolutely excellent and we're waiting for its launch on October 23rd.

And here the XBOX event comes to an end. Like every year, Microsoft once again delivered a packed event full of trailers and games with some amazing announcements that just showed us how 2026 and 2027 are excellent years for gaming in general and for Microsoft in particular.
