19 Minutes of New Gameplay from Silent Hill: Townfall Released

It feels like an eternity has passed since October 2022. Back then, the Silent Hill series was more or less in a state of clinical death, and suddenly one bright day (or at least one eerie night) it came roaring back into our lives with a lineup of announcements we could only have imagined just a few weeks prior. The Silent Hill 2 remake was announced, Silent Hill f received a brief teaser, and beyond those two, we got a particularly intriguing announcement for a Silent Hill game from No Code, the indie horror developer. Nearly 4 years have passed since then, and for almost 3 years the game was in frighteningly quiet development—so quiet we feared the game had been cancelled. But the developer managed to rebrand as Screen Burn, and after a few trailers in recent months leading up to release, we're now getting a new gameplay video as well!

The Silent Hill: Townfall gameplay video runs about 19 minutes and shows us the town where the game takes place, St. Amelia, the overall atmosphere of the town, some of the threats lurking in the fog, and in a sharp transition also shows us the town's Other World. Beyond just touring the town, we also see a bit of the investigation mechanic along with the CRTV that Simon, the main character, has, as well as several puzzles we'll encounter throughout the game. It's worth noting that if you want to avoid possible spoilers for the game, don't watch the video.

Silent Hill: Townfall is set to launch next month on September 24th (barring any last-minute delays).
